What to do if you think you’re too busy to reflect…
Hey…! To all the busy women (and maybe some men!) reading this…
Are you lying awake at night thinking about:
if you’ll find enough kids’ camps or activities to fill the summer holidays
if you know the point of tomorrow’s 10am call
when you’ll buy teachers’ gifts (and how many teaching assistants are there exactly?)
how you’ll fit in writing your mid-year reviews
what’s happening at Christmas with seeing your in-laws (thinking about Christmas in June!)
whether your tone in that email was too strong
if your team’s OKRs really align with the company goals
whether recycling is really enough to save the planet
And on and on…
Life’s a lot.
Thinking is tiring.
Over-thinking is exhausting.
With all this going on in your head, you might be wondering, how could I ever have time to reflect?
I would argue, the most important time to reflect is when you think you don’t have time to do it.
Your brain deserves a break.
Today maybe you can chat with a friend or have an easy coffee with a colleague.
Or go for a walk and get some fresh air.
Or spend some time watching a show that makes you laugh.
What do you do to give your brain a break?
